Final Samples and Meeting with Supplier

Hey KS Community! We have come so far; thanks for taking this journey with us! I know many of you are wondering about our status, so we just wanted to post a quick update. We received final samples from our supplier and they look amazing! Of course we lit some fires and cut a few things 😁.

We are currently at the SHOT Show (in Vegas) this week. It is awesome! We are meeting with our manufacturer and combing out every detail. The samples look great. We are excited and are on track.

On a side note, we did have another professional knife manufacturer at the show tell us it was one of the coolest things they have seen at the show...we figured if we are already here then it might be a good idea to get some expert opinion. Below are some pics and video. We hope you will be happy with what you see.

And the survey says...

Well, it is that time in our campaign progress. It is Survey time.

We just sent out the surveys this morning and we have had some early feedback. We apologize for any confusion we have caused. 

Rest assured that if you pledged for a full Phoenix, you will receive the extra gut hook, the connection hardware and the screwdriver bit even though they are not listed. They are just part of the set. The TinderQuiks and Wombat Whistle/Vial are listed separately since there are color choices you need to make and they are also offered as add-on items.

You would think we would have all this figured out by now, but we just didn't anticipate the confusion we ended up causing.

Now, let's move along to some good news. We were very excited to learn that fixed-blade full-tang knives are not subject to the additional tariffs that have been implemented due to the little feud between President Trump and President Xi. We were sweating things for a little bit, but are moving ahead full steam.

We have started the mold making process and we are pushing the factory as hard as we can while ensuring we are doing things right. We have some ideas on retail packaging that we are working on. As we flesh that out a little more we will seek your input. Next update...

For now, please go ahead and take your surveys so we know what you want. We have some great add-ons for you. If you see anything else that you might want that we carry, let us know and we may be able to include them in the add-ons.

Less than 1 day remaining!

OK guys and gals, let's make one last push here at the end. We have less than one day remaining in the campaign and need everyone's help to spread the word.

We are authorizing the start of the tooling! Machines are fired up and we are getting ready to cut production tooling! We're beyond excited to finally get this thing off the ground. Thank you so much for hanging in there with us.

We will be using BackerKit on the back end to collect any preference info and to confirm shipping addresses. More info on that to follow...

Stretch Goals Revealed!

Hey Kickstarter Backers! 

You're the best...you provide entrepreneurs an opportunity to chase down their dreams! We can't thank you enough.
You also provided critical feedback to enhance product and services. Many of you have given leads for distribution, shared ideal color options, and shared thoughts on grain structure & hardness for different blade material. 

We listened and got to work. 

In that vein we would like to introduce two stretch goals! 

$35K - New Color Option for Handle 

$50K - New Blade Material Option

Help us get to $35K and we will open up a new handle/scale color. 
These will be hand dipped with Prim 1 Fire Storm Camo hydrographic film
(Yes, we fell in love with this name)
There will be a $5 up fee for this option

We were asked for another option for brighter color scales...we wanted to celebrate the spirit of the campaign and landed on this Prym 1 Pattern. 

The second Stretch Goal is new Blade material of VG-10!
At $50K we will  release this option. We are still working with the manufacturer to nail down the price. 

We need your feedback! Please leave a comment below if you plan of taking advantage of either of these stretch goals (so we can plan accordingly)

In other news, Doug was able to fill his Elk tag this week ...and the Talon and Feather were able to get some more field testing. Doug was happy :)

In less than 40 hours we were fully funded! …we are humbled, and grateful. Thank you. Thank you for your support in innovation, entrepreneurship, and joining this journey with us.  

These are all images of Doug (the guy in our video, the one who helps run the YouTube Channel Epic Mountain Hunter) …he sent them to us to show us how he feels right now! He was here from the beginning explaining all the things he needed in a hunting-survival knife. He field-tested them, came back with critical feedback…he was patient with development. Now he is excited that they will become a reality. 

We have 2 questions for you: A: What’s your favorite image? (1, 2, 3, 4)
B: If 3 of the images are called handstands, then what in the world do you call the “camo-branch position”? 

We know you’re connected. You are the Market Mavens; you just “get it” and you lead the way for embracing innovation. Please continue to spread the word…so we can plan some awesome stretch goals. Some of you have already reached out and provided some ideas for stretch goals. Keep ‘em coming!
